Low Vision Specialists of Maryland & Virginia has convenient office locations in both states to allow us to help more patients with their low vision needs. If you have been struggling with vision and feel that our services or products could be a benefit, we invite you to schedule an appointment at one of our Virginia office locations, where you will have access to our full list of services.
Services Offered by our Virginia Offices
For patients in Virginia, our Virginia offices offer all of the services available through Low Vision Specialists of Maryland & Virginia. For many patients, your care at our clinic will start with a low vision screening appointment and then proceed to a Magnification Fitting appointment. At the beginning of your Magnification Fitting appointment, we will perform some tests to determine whether our custom devices will be able to improve your vision. If we cannot provide improvement within the first 15-20 minutes, there is no charge for the visit to our low vision clinic.
If we can improve your vision, then we will continue to perform a comprehensive one to two-hour low vision evaluation to determine and design the low vision aids that will best help you.
In addition to these main services, Dr. Thomas Azman, the lead doctor at Low Vision Specialists of Maryland & Virginia, is able to offer house calls to Virginia patients who cannot leave the house due to their vision concerns.
Low Vision Products Available from our Virginia Offices
If we determine that our low vision products would be a good fit for your vision concerns, our low vision clinic will fit and design you with some of our products, which may include:
- Prismatic Eyeglasses - These glasses help vision by encouraging the eyes to work together properly, but they do not provide high magnification.
- E-scoop Macular Degeneration Eyeglasses - These glasses shift the image so that it hits a different part of the macula, making it an excellent help for people struggling with macular degeneration.
- Telescopic Eyeglasses - These glasses use specialty optics to add telescopic lenses to traditional eyeglass prescriptions.
- Microscopic Eyeglasses - These glasses add custom magnification to an eyeglasses prescription to reduce the blur caused by high powered lenses.
In addition to these specific products, our low vision clinic prescribes pharmaceutical grade vitamins and offers neuro-optometric rehabilitation to deal with neurological conditions that have caused vision problems.
If you have been told that there is no hope for your vision, don't give up. Call one of our low vision clinics in Virginia to learn of the options available to you. With the help of Dr. Azman and his team, you may be able to get the help you need to regain some of your sight again.
