Legally Blind Patient Visits
Baltimore Ravens
Under Armour Performance Center

Low Vision Specialists of MD & VA goes the extra distance and arranges a private VIP tour for legally blind Stargardt’s Disease patient at the home of the Baltimore Ravens located at the spectacular Under Armour Performance Center in Owings Mills, MD.

“It was one of those magical moments being able to go behind the scenes and see the inner workings of my favorite team” says Briana G, Baltimore, MD. The Ravens were extremely generous to open up their home and provide Briana, her teenage son and LVS representative VP of Marketing Bari Azman on an in-depth tour of the training facility.  “We are extremely grateful to the Baltimore Ravens staff for providing Briana with this special once-in-a-lifetime opportunity”, says Bari Azman.

Briana is classified as “legally blind” due to her severe vision loss associated with Stargardt’s Disease, the juvenile form of Macular Degeneration.  If your wondering how Briana, a legally blind individual enjoyed the tour at the sprawling training campus, the answer is simple.  LVS of MD & VA recently designed a customized optical system with pair of task specific telescope glasses used for distance.  With Briana wearing her customized telescope glasses, this enabled her to capture everything on the tour and truly appreciate the special night out.  Some of the tour highlights included a visit to the equipment room, fitness center, players lounge, and culminated with a visit to the massive indoor practice field where the Ravens cheerleading team was practicing.
