Diane Ducharme, CRC

Diane Ducharme is a blind and low vision specialist and advocate with many years’ experience helping organizations meet the needs of those with vision impairment. She has a comprehensive knowledge of the vocational, employment and accessibility challenges faced by those living with blindness and low vision and has dedicated her career to eliminating them.

Diane has held positions as a case manager, vocational specialist/training specialist, and blind/low vision outreach specialist with national corporations and non-profits. As a Blind/Low Vision Outreach Specialist for Sprint, she works to expand awareness of the company’s efforts to expand accessibility and eliminate barriers to independence and employment for those with vision impairment.

Previously Diane served as a Vocational Specialist/Training Specialist with Columbia Lighthouse for the Blind in Washington DC. There she was instrumental in developing marketing strategies to increase employment opportunities for those with vision impairment and served as a tireless advocate for successful job placements. Diane also served as senior case manager for the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired where she developed and facilitated the Work Search Skills Training Program. She also ran the Young Adults Group and supported clients in finding appropriate assistive aids and devices.

Diane is a certified rehabilitation counselor and regularly runs support groups for those with low vision. She holds a Masters Degree in Education (M.Ed.) from The Pennsylvania State University, and a Bachelor’s in Science degree from Kutztown University.
