IMPORTANT SAFETY INFORMATION

This important safety information (“Safety Information”) applies to Sunu® branded hardware and software products (“Product(s)”) sold by Sunu, Inc. (“Sunu”).

THE PRODUCT(S) ARE NOT REGULATED SAFETY DEVICES. THE PRODUCT(S) SHOUD NEVER BE USED AS A REPLACEMENT FOR YOUR EXISTING VISUAL AID SYSTEMS. THE PRODUCT(S) MUST ALWAYS BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH A CANE, A DOG GUIDE, OR A HUMAN GUIDE BECAUSE IT DOES NOT BY ITSELF CONTAIN ALL INFORMATION NEEDED FOR SAFE TRAVEL AND DOES NOT DETECT DROPOFFS. THE PRODUCT(S) ARE NOT INTENDED FOR USE IN THE RAIN. DO NOT ALLOW THE SONAR SENSOR TO GET WET. DO NOT USE THE PRODUCT(S) IN TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING 130°F OR 55°C. DO NOT ATTEMPT TO DISASSEMBLE THE PRODUCT(S).

Please consult a specialist in orientation and mobility, vision rehabilitation or a physician if you have questions about using Sunu® Band.

Sunu® Band is not intended to be used for- or to detect:

  • Street curbs
  • Drop-offs
  • Stairways
  • Inclined or uneven surfaces
  • Moving vehicles of any kind
  • Certain small objects that can be trip-hazards
  • Slippery or wet surfaces (whether indoors and outdoors)

You should use caution and not rely on the Sunu Band to:

  • Climbing, going up/down stairs, and steps
  • Crossing the street or any intersection where there is vehicular traffic
  • Interference

The sonar sensor may experience interference from other ultrasonic devices such as:

  • Automatic room lighting
  • Other Motion detectors
  • Other ultrasonic emitting devices
  • Interference make the Sunu® Band vibrate continuously and it may become unresponsive. If you experience interference in a certain environment, please discontinuous use until you are in an area free from interference.

Children

Sunu® Band is not intended to be used by children under the age of 5 years old. Children under the age of 13 should use Sunu® Band with the supervision of an adult (parent or legal guardian). Please consult a specialist in orientation and mobility, vision rehabilitation or a physician to determine if Sunu® Band is right for your child.

Please refer to our privacy policy for information regarding the use of the Sunu mobile app and registration. We restrict use of the Service to individuals age 13 and above, and do not knowingly seek or collect personal information from anyone under the age of 13. Parents or legal guardians should register on behalf of any children under the age of 13.

Potential Hazards

Sunu’s products have been tested and certified, and meet the necessary electrical, radiative emissions and safety requirements for the FCC and CE. Though there are no known health risks with the Sunu® Band ultrasonic transducer for humans and most household pets, please use caution when using the device.

Avoid direct contact and/or closely placing the ultrasonic sensor to:

  • Your /or someone else’s ears, or that of pets and other animals
  • Direct contact with your skin
  • In close proximity to anyone who is pregnant
  • Sunu® Band is made of hypoallergenic materials. Discontinue use if you have any signs of developing a rash or an allergic reaction.

Device Care

Sunu® Band and Tag are not waterproof and are not intended for use in the rain and submerged underwater. If the device is wet, please allow it to dry before continuing use.

To prolong the life of you battery, we suggest that you avoid charging for prolong periods of time, in excess of 4 hours or overnight.
