Experienced, Passionate Service

Low Vision Specialists of Maryland and Virginia has a passion for helping people see. Dr. Thomas Azman, our leading doctor, has over 42 years of experience assisting patients with low vision, and he brings the knowledge of a seasoned doctor to everything that we do.

All patients who come to our practice are given a free low vision screening to determine if our devices and services will help them. Dr. Azman also offers house calls for those patients whose vision problems make it difficult to leave the house. His goal is to help as many patients as possible get the help they need to be able to see.

Helping Patients Find Their Low Vision Solutions

At Low Vision Specialists of Maryland and Virginia, our goal is to provide solutions for each of our patients that help them to see. Everything starts with a low vision evaluation.  We have a number of low vision aids and devices that are designed to compensate for the problems that cannot be addressed through traditional glasses and contacts. This allows our patients, many of whom are deemed legally blind, to regain the ability to see.

In addition to our devices, we also work with our patients to address lifestyle changes that can help support and improve vision. Sometimes, for instance, patients can use vitamin therapy to help provide the macula with the proper nutrients to avoid further degeneration. Patients who are suffering vision problems due to neurological conditions, such as traumatic brain injury, can benefit from neuro-optometric rehabilitation.
