SMART EYEGLASSES REVOLUTIONIZE TREATMENT OF SEVERE VISION LOSS-
INCORPORATE VOICE RECOGNITION TECHNOLOGY & BLUETOOTH CONTROL

Timonium, MD – January 20th, 2017:

NuEyes featuring ODG smart glasses is the most advanced wearable technology on the market today to enhance low vision and severe vision loss. Incorporating the technology of an android tablet, these smart glasses offer extreme magnification of up to 12x, incorporate voice recognition technology, and wireless Bluetooth control worn on the finger allows wearers to use voice commands to improve the images projected through the lenses. NuEyes is available in the mid-Atlantic states through Low Vision Specialists of MD & VA (LVS), which will unveil them at their Maryland Low Vision Technology Fair on Tuesday, February 21st at its Timoniun, Maryland office located at 2219 York Road, Suite 100.

NuEyes is a small, compact, yet very powerful device that looks like, and is worn as, eyeglasses.
• It is exclusively designed for individuals suffering from low vision and severe vision loss.
• The extreme magnification levels of 12x were previously available only through large, clunky desktop machines.
• In addition to the voice recognition technology, the glasses also have manual controls, offer contrast enhancement of print and can be customized with prescription lenses.
• Ear buds let the wearer listen to a text reader or media connected via Bluetooth

This technology means that people suffering from Macular Degeneration, Stargardt’s Disease, Retinitis Pigmentosa, and other visual impairments can experience the joys of improved sight, including seeing the faces of loved ones and enjoying the things they love.

NuEyes is actually a combination of custom software and smart glasses. A camera on the front of the blacked-out glasses acts as eyes. It captures images and projects them on the lenses. As Bloomberg reports, NuEyes “are equipped with an autofocus camera with 720-pixel resolution, comparable to a low-end HDTV.” The NuEyes device weight only 125 grams, less than an iPhone 6, according to Yahoo! Finance.

The future holds numerous uses for NuEyes, including the ability to stream TV and movies directly to the glasses via a Wi-Fi connection. Fast Company says the eyeglasses are basically “an Android tablet that you wear”, built to include sophisticated sensors like gyroscopes, magnetometers, and accelerometers, a 4-megapixel camera, and global navigation satellite system technology, plus a powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 processor.

We invite you to attend the technology fair on February 21st and to try NuEyes for yourself. Please contact us so that we can arrange a demonstration for you.
