While prismatic technology has been around for a long time, it often not the best option for low vision magnifying reading glasses, however, every patient is different. The goal of the prismatic glasses is to blend and align the double image into one proper image. For some they are a great reading aid.

These low vision glasses are designed with custom filters to help people with macular degeneration. Often the filters can translate to different colors, like orange, red, green and others based on the specific case. When utilizing custom filters, low vision optics, and magnification you can achieve better vision. IrisVision offer about 70-degree field of view. With this, patients can see the world clearly and fully. One disadvantage of iris vision is the inability to walk around while wearing the device.

CCTV magnifier is a combination of a camera and TV screen used to provide low vision aid for macular degeneration patients. The camera is pointed at an object while a magnified image will appear on the screen. The patient will be able to see the magnified image that appears on the screen and use it to work in real-time.
